YOU ARE ENOUGH

YOU ARE ENOUGH

Have you ever felt like there weren’t enough hours in a day or days in a week for you to accomplish all of the things on your to-do list? For instance, if you had just a few more hours, you could finish the laundry, wash all the dishes, and spend quality time with your family. You could also meal prep., spend more time with God, and be a better wife/mother/daughter/sister/friend. But instead you end up going to bed exhausted, your relationships are failing, the dishes go undone and little Suzie’s favorite blanket remains untouched in the dirty clothes for yet another night.  In moments like this it is easy for any woman to feel like she is not enough. I’ve been there, and from time to time the enemy tries to pull me back there by dropping negative thoughts inside of my head. But I’m here to remind you and the enemy that we are enough and through Christ, we can do all things.

I just released my first book a few months ago and during that time the thoughts of not being enough continued to bombard my mind. It was a very difficult season for me. I was home fulltime managing life as a new home school mom, a wife, and a soon-to-be entrepreneur. It was my first year homeschooling and I was a complete wreck. I was trying to balance teaching my six and seven year old while nursing my newborn every other second. I also had to maintain a clean and efficient household, write a book, and be a good and supportive wife. I went to bed almost every night feeling like I wasn’t enough. And in those moments I would say things like, “I can’t do this anymore.” “Maybe I’m not cut out for this.” “I just want to quit.” But the Spirit of God wouldn’t let me go down without a fight and gently whispered, “you are more than enough. You can do all things through God who gives you strength.” That simple nudge gave me the push that I needed.

I began feeding my Spirit with deep meditative prayer, the Word of God, and positive self-talk. During my talks with God I would tell Him that I was exchanging my weakness for His strength, and my cant’s for His can. I also began affirming my abilities and backing them up with His word. When negative thoughts entered my mind I would dismiss them by saying out loud, “I can do all things through God who gives me strength.” And over time I went from being insufficient in several areas to fully sufficient in most areas. I’m not perfect but I am operating in and through the power of Christ. Because of His power in me, I was able to write a book in less than three months with a newborn baby and little to no me time. God did that for and He can do the same for you in your areas of need.

So today, exchange your weakness for God’s strength. If you are feeling like you aren’t enough, affirm yourself with His word, fast, and pray for strength. Also, eliminate any possible hindrances that are keeping you in a negative space. Daily tell the enemy that you are enough and that you can do all things through God who gives you strength. If God has called you to it, He will get your through it. Be blessed and boldly declare, “I am enough.”
